These dolphins are considered as vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Recently fishermen found critically endangered species of dolphin left on the surface of the water in Thailand.
The sick Irrawaddy dolphin calf was unable to swim. The fishermen called the marine conservationists. They called the dolphin Paradon which means “brotherly burden”, as the dolphin didn’t have a long life due to the specialists.
Irrawaddy dolphins appear in three rivers in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Indonesia as well as in the shallow coastal waters of South and Southeast Asia. They are considered as vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Thailand’s eastern coast, which borders Cambodia, is thought to still be home to 400 Irrawaddy dolphins.
Though some specialists claimed that the dlphin wouldn’t live that long Paradon felt better after a few medications. The caretakers bottlefed the baby dolphin very attentively. So it was the efforts of kind-hearted vets and caregivers that Paradon felt better and could swim again.
